The Lynnwood Citizens Patrol (CP) takes an active role in addressing crime concerns in the City of Lynnwood in a unique and effective way. This group of citizens utilizes department vehicles to serve as additional eyes and ears for the police. The CP members, working in teams of two, patrol the streets of Lynnwood seven days a week.  They have spotted DUIs and stolen vehicles, reported suspicious persons, performed extra watch in problem areas, including speed checks, directed traffic at numerous accidents, assisted with traffic at special events, pushed stalled vehicles off the roadway, opened locked car doors for citizens, checked disabled parking for compliance, patrolled parks and trails on police bikes as well as in vehicles, assisted with both locating and cleaning graffiti and general assistance to the public.  They have earned the respect and acceptance from the patrol officers. Positive feedback has also been received from residents and members of the business community, as well as City leadership.
